Nail Top Tips! - Chips and Cracks!Updated a month ago

Chips & cracks can appear due to a lack of strength in a certain area of the nail. Most likely at the free edges of the nail plate.

This can also happen when the natural nails are weak too. For example, if you bump your nail onto something, the normal nail will start to bend a bit, and the artificial nail will stay. In those kinds of situations, the nail will start chipping or cracking.

Good preparation is very important to make sure the liquids and the dip powder are applied evenly, as they are also more susceptible to chipping when accidentally touching your skin or cuticle.

It's very important that there is enough strength in all areas of the nail. That's why we recommend at least 4 layers of base + dip, 2 (very generous) layers of activator, & 2 layers of top coat.

When too little layers are applied (for example 2x base + dip) the nail will start to chip.

You can always apply more layers (for example, 5). This will give more strength to the nail. The stronger the better. 💪
