Nail Top Tips! - Clumpy/messy results?Updated a month ago
A messy or clumpy application can be due to a few reasons:
1. The use of too much 'Base It' liquid.
2. Not applying the 'Base It' evenly.
3. Touching of the skin/cuticle with the 'Base It'
All of these 3 reasons, would lead to a rough application.
To avoid this, it's very important to only apply the 'Base it' to the nail plate in thin layers and try not to touch the cuticles. If it helps, you can use a toothpick to go around the edges of the nail to clean up the edges after they dipped their finger into the dipping powder. This should help to keep it clean.
Just remember that where you apply the base coat, the dip is going to stay on. That's why it's really important to apply it even and only on the nail plate.
If you accidentally apply some base coat to your skin, we recommend cleaning it up by gently rubbing with a cotton swab soaked in 100% acetone over the part where you've accidentally applied the base coat.
After the activator hardens, you need to file down the nail until all bumps disappear and the nail plate is perfectly smooth.
