Nail Top Tips! - Top coat not applying smoothly?Updated a month ago

If the top coat of a dip powder manicure is not applying smoothly after the 2nd layer or doesn't harden, then it could be due to a few different reasons. 💅

Here are some common causes and potential solutions:

1. It could be that you applied too little activator; it's really important to use enough, otherwise the nails will not harden properly.

2. It could be that there was too much time between the activator and the top coat: As said before: the top coat needs the activator to dry properly. If there is too much time in between it could be that it's not drying properly or the application will not be smooth.

3. It could be that you filed away too much of the activator. The top coat needs the activator to dry properly.

If you've already finished the nail but you only want to redo the top coat, we recommend filing off your old topcoat and putting the activator on again, waiting 2 minutes without touching it, going over it with a wipe, and then reapplying the top coat with 2 minutes between each coat.
